Roma Street Parklands

Posted in Location & Attractions @ Aug 17th 2012 8:52am - By Administrator

Just a stone’s throw from our Spring Hill Apartments, the Roma Street Parklands is a lush green oasis right in the heart of Brisbane.

The parklands encompass 16 hectares of subtropical gardens, grassy lawns and rainforest, with plenty of space for picnicking, throwing a Frisbee with the kids or just relaxing with a good book. Thanks to the Parklands cleverly thought out horticultural displays, the park is bright and colourful year round with a unique range of rare national flora and fauna to admire. As you explore, look out for tropical birds, lizards and fish that have made the
gardens their home.

After enjoying a gourmet sandwich and coffee at the Melange Cafe, you can admire the park’s public art collection, which includes mosaics, sand sculptures and murals created by Brisbane artists. If you’d like to find out more about each artwork or discover the history of the gardens, you can join one of the free guided tours run by local volunteers (booking ahead is essential.)
